Cruisin'

Last weekend Kendall finished putting his landcruiser back together (there is always something wrong with it) and we decided to take it out to Sycamore Creek to make sure that it won't fall apart on us.

He really loves this baby. I would go as far as to say it is his {other wife}. I tend to have jealousy issues with how much time and money that he puts into it but I forget about it all when I see this face:

I remembered to take my camera with me this time:

And I was also prepared for the crazy wind that makes my hair fly:

He went up some steep hills.

We brought Sadie with us...she bounced a lot! We probably won't bring her along next time! Haha.

The sky reminded me of the tops of buttery rolls:

See the resemblance? Kind-of? I do.

It was a really nice time.

Sadie says bye.

The office box

CONTESTTTT!!!
Ok so I am doing this contest to win The Office Box

and the book Wrong Number.

This book looks pretty mysterious. It even has a trailer!

And you can go and check out The Original Scrapbox because they have a lot of cool stuff.

I really like the ribbon box and the workbox in the vanilla beadboard- that would be really cool to put in my craft room.

I hope I at least get a shot at the finals to win because I never win anything! haha

Ruffles!

Since I don't have any cute little baby girls to dote on, I spend my time and money on my sister's and my sister's in law's girlies! {if I even did those apostrophes right?} My sister in law Clarisa is currently expecting a girl after 4 boys in a row {6 boys total} and I am currently in stock-up mode to help her get a few new girl clothes in her house :) {I know I'm kinda ruining the surprise of giving these to you Clarisa, but you can just pretend to be surprised haha}
So I found some cute onesies and decided to add a little fluff to them.

I started out by typically forgetting to take a before picture of the first one:

But you can get the idea.

Here is the second before:

After:

I have a few more but I haven't gotten to them yet because I got distracted and ambitious...
I'm not yet sure if it was too ambitious but hey, it was fun either way.

I had some scraps left over from an earlier project and decided to just make a onesie with it.
Everything was great but the neck and the sleeves... I'm still not sure if a big baby head and chubby baby arms can fit into those holes but we will just have to wait and see!

It should be about 3-5 months in size but who knows!

Either way, it was a fun time and now I'm off to ruffle some more onesies!

The King

I don't know about you, but I grew up with an Elvis-loving, hip-shaking, Love-Me-Tender mother.

She constantly tells and re-tells stories of how she would play Elvis all the time while she was pregnant with me.

Or of how when I was fussy as a baby, she would rock me and put on the Elvis record and I would calm down.

So this semester, it is my last semester of my undergraduate degree and I am taking an Elvis class. I have to say, it has been an awesome class so far. Not only is it easy {the MAIN reason why I took it in the first place}, but it is interesting and memorable. And I get to listen to some of the original recordings.

Can you believe that the hubby El Guapo doesn't like Elvis at all? The only time he will listen to it is when I dance around the house shaking my hips singing "Here Comes Santa Claus" with all vocal hiccups included at Christmas time.

I mean who can resist the King? Please tell me that you all appreciate him at some level...

Headbands

For the past few months I've been taking advantage of my sewing machine and making a few new things. I tried out this silky flower necklace:

I also tried out these headbands:

I gave them to my friends for Christmas and a few to my sister for her Birthday :)

Not bad for a first try.

Tweet hearts

This last craft that I did is something that I am VERY proud of.

not because it's cute.

not because it was quick and easy.

not because it was a Valentine's craft.

NOnonono! It's because I thought of it... {all by myself}

Like, I was walking and I saw these little cute bird towels in target and I thought "oh i should do a valentines thing with birds" and then it came to me "tweet-hearts" and I ran home and scribbled out the image in my head into my sketch book and viola!

I took it over to my sister-in-law Camille's house and she cut the wood for us and we worked on it together. If you want to see how hers looks go {here}

Oh and just for another cute fun Valentine's project, I did this:

Now my house looks all lovey-dovey. Hopefully, my crazy exam week {4 exams and 2 quizzes} will settle down and I will get to share the love with my hubby.

London's run.

I've had an awesome week- and busy of course. This last weekend I ran a half marathon in London's Run. It was amazing.

Not only did I get to run the farthest that I have ever run {13.1 miles}, but I also got to run it all with my family! My brother, my two sisters, my brother in law, and my niece! It was such a great experience and I can't wait to get back out and do another!

Here are a few pictures.
Alyssa and I at about 5 or 6 miles in- still feeling good:

Us about to cross the finish line, not feeling so good but pretending to:

Us afterwards, ready to sit down PLEASE:

My sisters and I :) :

Us minus Tim {who smoked us all and ran it in 94 min!} and Alyssa:

It was great and I wanted to get out running the next day but I had a huge blister so I gave myself this week to let my feet recover.
